Visit from QNX and 5-Pin Bowling

Visitors from QNX visited CritLab and Queen’s on November 19, 2025 to talk about safety. Michael Brown, Principal Software Systems Developer and member of the kernel team for the last 10 years, gave a Distinguished Speaker Series seminar where he talked about safety and the QNX kernel.

Andy Gryc, Developer Ecosystem Director at QNX announced Michael at the beginning of the seminar. John Hanam, who works in developer relations, also came to talk to students and make sure things ran smoothly. Andy and John organized the visit and sent us a pile of Raspberry Pi 4s, preloaded with QNX, to use in teaching!

CritLab also had our Fall term outing in early December. We tried 5-pin bowling at Garrison Lanes at Kingston CFB. It was a lot of fun and Walker managed a 200 point game!
